The Edwards

Owners Chris Joannou and Chris Johnston have dedicated themselves to creating a shared space that provides a superbly designed environment offering good hearty food, a great cafe culture that is all anchored by a stunning raw concrete bar at its heart. The industrial chic space began its life as a Laundromat before becoming the hip bar scene that it is today, with beautiful cues from its heritage such as the steam press beer taps and gas tumbler lighting.

Sweet smoke scents the air from the kitchens wood fired oven, you can sit and eat with friends in a communal scene that is in keeping with the working roots of this town. The Edwards Cafe is proudly pouring coffee from our local roasting house Suspension Espresso and our breakfast, lunch and dinner has a consious measure toward sourcing seasonal produce from local suppliers and maintaining a strong knowledge of the origin of our produce from local suppliers and maintaining a strong knowledge of the origin of our produce.

On the flip side, if it's not a meal you are after, perhaps you have just finished work, meeting with friends or perched up on a bar stool and are looking for something to take the edge off or nibble on over a drink - we get it. The Edwards bar is fueled by classic cocktails, a carefully selected wine menu and a non-stop supply of Newton's Young Henry's, Murrays Brewing, Brooklyn Lager and other cracking craft beers rotating on our taps. And if you need something to chew while you're sipping your brew our wood and fire and smoke inspired bar bits are served up from 4pm everyday.
